7 Things Sunday 03.24.24
HI good people!
I am writing you from a corner seat in McAlister's Deli. This is actually a full circle moment. I worked for McAlister's for 10 years while I was in getting my AS, BS, and playing around with some graduate hours. I would see people come in all the time with their laptops tucked under their arm looking for a quaint corner to eat some food and get some work done. AND HERE I AM. I know it may sound silly, but I was inspired by these regular seeming individuals and their need to grab some lunch and get things done. In reality some of them probably just didn't have a strong WiFi signal at their home and they were probably surfing Facebook, but I would like to think otherwise. GUYS we have hit the calm after the storm. I know for the last couple of weeks I have hopped on here and talk about all the things I am running to do, but these next couple weeks are just work and ball practices.
April I have 2 markets to attend so I will be prepping for those but that's it. I had a request for In the South tanks, so I am going to be looking at trying to make that a reality. You guys also sold us out of the biggie bags. I also had an event today ( I'll tell ya'll more in a min) and there are so many people who LOVED the Go Getter Greens shirts and wanted it in a sweatshirt.
Summer in Louisiana is approaching and I need to my water and workouts together. The sun will soon be on my skin and I need to find somewhere to go frolic.
7 things...
1. For the last couple weeks I have been working on the girls playroom. I think I have it 90% together. They were so excited so have a refreshed space. They have better seating and less toys. I donated a13 galloon bag of toys. Now they have a better system for clean up and figures crossed, I can go upstairs without almost tripping on stuff.
2. 3.18 is 318 day in our parks. I hope The Good Daze got some good sales that day. Everything was 31.8% off. I cant wait to see what my sales are at the end of the month.
3. My middle had a soccer game this week and she scored 4/5 of their points. I was so proud of her skills!
4. Wednesday was the Women's Symposium, this was my 3rd time attending this event. I had a friend, Toshia Laing, who was on a panel. But man the keynote speaker, Dr. Lewis, was amazing and I really enjoyed the women in politics and government conversation. I also got to support some of the local makers, and had some really good conversations with some women I know from the community. My little cup was overfilled and my heart felt good when I left.
5. This week is my company's 12th birthday. We celebrated with a week of sweets and activities. Thursday with the help of admin we created an award ceremony for all of the staff. It went really well. I was so proud to be involved. Plus who doesn't love dressing up and putting on a red lip? I also got too break in some new shoes(not pictured). ;)
6. On Thursday my oldest brought home her report card, and she killed it! On top of that she got 3 runs at her softball game that night. So you know we had to celebrate.
7. Today I had the opportunity to speak at True Vine Baptist Church as their Women's Spotlight for Women's Month. To my surprise my nephews were in the crowd and man, it was a surreal feeling. The ladies at the church was so kind. I got to share my books and workbooks with so many women! I even got to make a connect to read at a school.
As you can tell my heart is full and I am just excited for what the next week and the summer unfolds.
