7 Things Sunday… Ocean Springs Food…8.20.25

7 Things Sunday: Ocean Springs Eats

Hey good people! Happy Sunday!

This weeks blog  is all about the food we ate during our trip to Ocean Springs, Mississippi. From brunch spots to custard stands, here are the places worth mentioning.

  1. Live Oak

LOVED IT! We sat outside under oak trees (literally built into the deck seating), and the weather was perfect. Our server, Ella, was so sweet and attentive. I had the biscuits and gravy, and the kids split pancakes the size of their heads. Also… I may or may not have had a mimosa for brunch. 10/10 would go back.

2. Murky Waters

We went to Murky Waters it was super relaxed. I had the loaded waffle fries with brisket, white Rotel dip, and jalapeños DELICIOUS. The kids had chicken nuggets and fries. Our server was laid-back and food came out quickly. They have a balcony area, but it was only open on certain days, which sucks. However I would still go again.

3. Buzzy’s Breakfast Joint

Buzzy’s had plenty of parking and quick service. The food was okay. I ordered sausage & gravy, bacon, hash browns, and two waffles—but the space lacked a  personality. The location was amazing but I expected more.

4. The District Coffee Shop

After breakfast at Buzzy’s, we walked over to The District, and the aesthetic alone made it worth the stop. Low lighting, super chill, tons of coffee options, and animal-friendly. The staff was kind and welcoming. Definitely a cozy place to relax, sip, and hang.

5. Pop Brothers

If you’re walking around in the heat, this place hits the spot. Handcrafted popsicles in a wide variety of flavors for $5, plus milk-based ones slightly over $2. They pop the top open for you on the spot. Refreshing, colorful, and totally worth the stop. There is an adult Pop too!

6. Knuckleheads

We ate here our last night, and the food was actually really good . I had a burger with sweet potato fries, and an Ace pineapple beer. But service was slow. We sat outside at a picnic table next to a large group, and it felt like our server forgot about us a few times. The kids’ nuggets looked straight out of a freezer bag, but they loved the fries. I would come again for a beer and the patio vibes but that's about it.

7.  Quake’s Ice Cream Custard

Since we first got to Ocean Springs I wanted to stop by this cute loud colored spot. When I found it it was custard I was ALL in. Unfortunately, this one didn’t impress me. The girls got snowballs (which they enjoyed), but at $3.50 each—the same price as a hot dog—it felt like more of a one-and-done experience. Cute stop, just not a must-visit for us.

So there you have it—7 bites from Ocean Springs.
