7 Things Sunday… N A S H V I L L E … 10.06.24
Happy Spooky Season, good people!
It’s much later than what I would normally deliver a blog post but I was determined to get the week started! This past week has been full of early mornings and late nights but there has been so much entertainment in between.
1.Sunday I woke up at 3:50 AM and drove to Nashville, TN to see my middle niece, Madison, and Jazmine Sullivan. Let me tell you, it was an adventure. I actually bought these tickets 6 months ago when Live Nation did their annual sale day and got these tickets for $25! The tickets were in the nose bleeds but I have a rule that as long as I’m in the building and there's a screen I’m with it. What’s crazy is that when we went to go to our seats they gave us new tickets in the 100s so technically I got seats in the 100s for $25! This was the Serenade Tour, which was lead by Maxwell, Jazmine Sullivan , and October London. ALL of them were phenomenal live. The stadium was packed. The only thing I wish is that there would have been a dj to entertain us in between shows. I have never not seen that happen.
2. The concert was at the Bridgestone arena on Broadway. Our air bnb was literally 5 mins walking distance away. I had forgotten to check how far the venue was from where we were staying but I just lucked up so much on this trip. The host was great, and the facility was SUPER nice.
3. Here's to some BOMB pics of me during this trip.
4. Before the concert we had brunch at Ruby Slipper. Apparently the owners are from New Orleans. The food was good but I was really here for the bloody mary. The parking was convinent and it was in the middle of what I would consider their downtown area. There are a lot of shops, bakerys and places with wall art to use as your personal backdrop.
5. Of course you know I had to go to Target. The location was about a 10 mins drive from Madison's school, Fisk University. I love going to targets in other places because I normally come home with a bunch of stuff my Target doesn't have. This time it wasn't the case. I realized this location and it seems like many more have removed their plus size sections. I kinda went in circles for a while trying to figure out where it was until it dawned on me, that these two racks of Ava and Viv was it. Target, we have got to do better.
6. We got a lot of In the South, merch shots done. In the South, is a brand and a lifestyle. I am repping my roofts everywhere I go. Blog readers here is a sneak preview of Oct 12's drop! Introducing SAND.
7. We ended our time together by getting some Dunkin Donuts. We don't have Dunkin in Louisiana, that I know of so my experience with them is limited. However, the Pumpkin Spice Latte I had was delicious. This was one of their newer locations and the staff was kind and the facility was CLEAN.
The drive to Nashville was long but I was FULL. I had music, and some conversation here and there but a lot of time was spent with my thoughts and just thinking about God's goodness. Not only the fact that I had the opportunity to drive 450 miles, but just to see the world from a perspective that all things can be healed. There were a lot of little towns that I passed thru and I love looking at peoples homes and properties . I have the mindset that all things can be renewed. So just because that gas station has been empty for 20 years, I see it as an opportunity to be restored and that life can once again inhabit it. I am one of those people who thinks a coat of paint and some cleaning can make everything new again. I am just thankful that, that is how I am set to see the world.
I did it before midnight! Thanks for hanging in there peeps.
