Perfect fit...3.08.26

Hey good people, how is it going? Welcome back. I hope everyone is well.

Today we are talking about clothes. Let me tell you something. Over the last few years, I have had a real relationship with clothing. If you know me, you know I am a clearance shopper. I am not paying full price. I have kids and that is just not financially realistic for me. But I love clothes. I truly do. I live for a good “oh girl” or “that is cute.”

I feel like I have curated a closet that really works for me. I am a big girl, so I have to be intentional. I have to pay attention to what works for my body, what fits right, and what actually makes me feel good. It is a hunt sometimes, but when you find it, you FIND IT.

Now listen. Target has been dressing me for at least twenty years. Truly. But in recent years, I took a little space from them because I felt like they valued my money more than my mind. Still, I have to be honest. Living in a rural area does not give me a lot of options for clothes that fit well, so sometimes I circle back. I scroll the site, watch other people’s hauls, favorite a few things, and wait patiently for clearance. And when clearance hits, I move.

Let me tell you about this red dress. When I saw it on clearance, I did not hesitate. I grabbed it. And when it arrived, I knew. This was for me. I cannot wait to wear it. I will share a picture because it gave me life the moment I opened the package. It also made me think about how many cute things I might have missed while I was not shopping there.

I love the creators who go in and show home goods and clothing finds. Sometimes I think I would love to be the one trying on clothes and sharing what works. But let’s be honest, that is work. And I do not love the idea of returning piles of clothes. Maybe that looks like filming quick finds in store, maybe scanning and sharing more consistently, maybe just being more intentional overall. Because finding clothes that truly fit you can change everything.

There is something powerful about putting on an outfit and suddenly your walk turns into a sashay because you know you look good. And when you know you look good, you feel good. Shout out to Alex Toussaint for that truth. When you feel good, not much can shake your day. Not much can change your mindset. Add a good pair of earrings and you are unstoppable.

I am grateful that I have had the chance to learn what works for my body. And yes, I am a big girl. And no, all big girls are not built the same. Many designers still do not design with us in mind. Everybody wants curves until it is time to actually dress curves. A big butt, big thighs, big chest, big belly, that is a real combination and sometimes a real challenge. But when you find something that fits, it is worth it.

That is all I got for today.

Do not be shy. Let’s be social.
