7 Things Sunday -Happy Father’s Day- 06.16.24
Hey y’all.
Happy Father’s Day out there to all the men who are diligently parenting and looking out for their peeps.
Father’s Day is a weird day for me. I’m one of those fatherless child’s who was not largely impacted by my fathers absence but also still was able to marry and have a pretty descent marriage.
When you reach a certain age I think you come to the realization that relationships are very hard and based on how you were raised or what you aspire to be you are going to have decisions based on that and your morals. It is not always a given to be present and good to children. Hell how can you be present and good to the children when you can’t stand to be in the same room as the other person you made them with ?!

7 Things
1. This has been a busy week but a good one. I got to go to all three nights of the Miss Louisiana Pageant. It’s been interesting to learn how this system works. The girl that won was in my top 3 so that’s really exciting. 
2. I finally got to wear my converse that I got on super sale this week ! I’ve had them for about a month but I’ve loved them ever since I’ve seen them over a year or so ago.
3. Tuesday night instead of recording a podcast I ran some errands and went to get a bite to eat ALONE. I ordered my food and than go to work on some business stuff. I pray that every mom gets the opportunity to have some rest for parenting and their jobs and get to take some time to unload your minds. 
4. We got to visit the Ollie Burns Library this week ! I loved it ! The ladies were super nice and I really enjoyed the setup. We got some books that are not normally in our local library which gave us some ideas for new series. I’m always thankful for OPLIB. 
5. Saturday I had a market at the Juneteenth Celebration at the Africa. American Museum. Ms. Kenyatta who was the person who orchestrated the event was so nice. I met some really nice people there.
6. My friend Henny sent me this picture she saw on a school website from Reading across America week … it made me laugh. If you know me you know me. !
7. Sunday was a very special persons birthday ! We celebrated with @littlesweetshoppe & @cakeandbutter @mirandamichelle
These sweet people are amazing at their crafts and I am so lucky to have been able to live life with them. 
Bonus
Happy Father’s Day to JMN. He has wanted to be a father for wayy longer than I wanted to be a mother and our girls love him to death. It is a blessing to witness their relationships. I am very thankful.
