ITS...Back on track...1.9.2025

Hey good people, hows it going?
It has been quite a minute. And if I am being honest, sometimes the cylinders just are not all firing. When your system gets off, everything else seems to follow. You lose rhythm. You lose momentum. You lose track. This post is my small but intentional attempt at getting back on track.
I am not even sure if this will be posted before the new year or after. I would like to think before, but life is full right now and time feels like it is moving on its own schedule. Either way, here I am.
Today, I took a little trip out to Indian Village Farms. If you have never been, let me paint the picture for you. Indian Farms is this beautiful mix of farm, recreation area, and market. They sell fresh goods, partner with other small businesses, and somehow manage to feel like a tiny piece of heaven tucked away from the noise.
They have seasonal ice cream. Today I tried the Christmas tree ice cream and my forever favorite, honey ice cream. I also grabbed some homemade donuts and jalapeno cheese boudin because balance. The market is full of fresh fruits and vegetables, and outside there is space for kids to just be kids. Hay rides, tea planting, peach picking when the season is right, and even a petting zoo if you did not know. My girls and I love going seasonally so they can experience all the different things it has to offer. It brings me joy in a way that is hard to explain.
But today was not just about ice cream or the farm.
I went with a good friend from work, and we did something simple. We sat, we ate ice cream, and we talked. For about an hour. And yall, there is something so refreshing about real relationships. Just having the time to sit across from someone and talk about work, family, plans, and life without rushing or performing.
In that moment, life felt a little less lonely.
I found myself feeling deeply thankful. Thankful for people who can meet you on a random day, as you are. No makeup. No hair done. No being decked to the nines. I was in a lounging outfit. She was in workout pants. And it was perfect. We met each other where we were, exactly as we were.
Sometimes social media makes it seem like life has to be loud, polished, and planned. Like you cannot show up unless everything is together. But today reminded me that the quiet moments, the unplanned ones, are often the most beautiful.
I hope there is more of that ahead. And if you do not have that right now, I genuinely pray that you receive it. Everyone deserves moments that feel easy, safe, and real.
